This diploma thesis describes Opportunities of Social Work in paliative care in Slovak republic and compares seleccted aspects with Czech republic. Main goal of this work was describe system of paliative care in Slovak republic and compare selected aspekts with Czech republic. Empirical part of this work is focused on blind spaces in paliative care and system of paliative care which was mapped especially by literature and ilustrative intriview with one respondent. Work poits to the need to provide social servoces in paliative care.
Actors in the transformation process of hospitals into joint stock companies in the Slovak Republic (2010-2011)

This thesis is focused on the transformation of hospitals into joint stock companies from 2010 to the end of 2011. It is primarily aimed at actors, their actions, positions, attitudes and interests in this process. Furthermore, it is concerned with the question of the public vs. private interests in terms of health protection, ensuring the availability and quality of healthcare. The transformation process of hospitals and the position of actors is explained by the combination of economic and public policy theory - neoliberalism, economic globalization, New Public Management and Advocacy Coalition Framework. We explain actions, attitudes and interests of actors in the transformation process of hospitals by using research methods such as an analysis of selected events in health care and research of actors' actions. These research methods are based on different methods of data collecting such as semi-structured and informal interviews, a questionnaire survey and the study of secondary sources. The main aim of this thesis is an analysis of the transformation process of hospitals into joint stock companies in context of selected events in health policy, with a focus on research of actors' actions, attitudes and interests in this process. Free movement of persons from the perspective of coordination of health insurance of migrants within the EU countries

English summary Free movement of persons from the perspective of health insurance coordination of migrants in the countries of EU The aim of this thesis is to render an integrated commentary of basic rights, which are granted by European Union to its citizens in the field of health care, mainly through coordination regulations. It concentrates on specific situations when people travel to different member states, temporarily or permanently, and their opportunities of access to the health care system in a different state than the competent state. Furthermore, it follows with systems which are used by member states between themselves to provide effective realization of these rights and the interpretation of relevant provisions of coordination regulations by the Court of Justice of the European Union. The thesis is thematically divided into three parts, whereas the first introductory part contains three chapters concerning basic terminology and explaining terms related with health insurance in the EU such as social policy, social law and social rights, free movement of persons, social security and finally health insurance and health care. SUPPLY AND DEMAND IN THE PROVISION OF HEALTH CARE HEALTH SYSTEM SLOVAKIA

This thesis deals with health care and health systems in Slovakia. Aim of the study is focused on exploring the formation of supply and demand for health services in inpatient facilities in Slovakia and expected use of health care based on real demographic. Results of the analysis indicate that on current healthcare market in Slovakia is possible to characterize the supply, demand and elasticity only with data bias given by restrictions on the market.
Transformačný proces nemocničných zariadení

Táto štúdia sa zaoberá súčasným procesom transformácie nemocníc na obchodné spoločnosti v Českej republike a na Slovensku. Podáva teoretický pohľad na sektor zdravotníctva a prakticky porovnáva jednotlivé právne formy nemocničných zariadení.Na príklade nemocníc Plzeňského kraja a Nemocnice s Poliklinikou v Levoči skúma prvé dopady na hospodárenie, riadenie a kontrolu zdravotníckych zariadení.
